Based on request from the Speed Hound community, we are launching a new coaching service to our athletes with a run focus.  At Speed Hound, we strive to offer the services CENTERED AROUND YOU to help you reach your goals and potential. Whether you are looking to complete your first running event or looking to take your training and fitness to the next level, we are here to help you.


Why do you need a coach?

  1. You want to focus on running: If you’ve got a lot going on in your life, it is hard to find the time and energy to figure out your weekly workouts.  Leave the design of your plan to our coaches so you can focus on the most important thing - training.
  2. You’re looking for expert guidance: Our coaches are long time dedicated runners themselves and have a wide range of coaching experience from beginners to professionals.
  3. You have specific needs and goals: No one athlete is alike which is why one-size-fits-all training plans can often feel too easy/hard, lead to injuries, or fail to achieve your objectives.
  4. Your performance has plateaued: If you’re like most athletes, at some point, you are likely to feel like you’re not making progress.  There are many more factors than training volume and speed work that can be holding you back. Our coaches will take an objective approach to pinpoint areas that can elevate your performance.
  5. You need an accountability partner: There is no better way to keep your training on track than by having the guidance and encouragement from someone who wants the best for you.  In our 3 or 6 month training programs, coaches will touch base with you to gauge your progress and adjust as necessary.

Our philosophy and approach:

  • We take a customized and holistic approach: We are like snowflakes - no one athlete is the same, so why would you follow the readily available training plans on the internet?  Our coaches want to know the unique aspects of your experience, training, previous injuries, strengths/weaknesses, life priorities, and goals so that we can develop a program that will work for you.
  • We vet our coaches: We are extremely selective in the coaches that work under the Speed Hound brand and only the most experienced and dedicated are chosen to help you.

Our Offerings


We offer three types of coaching to help meet a variety of needs.

  1. LAUNCH (Tailored 10 week plan): If you are looking to try out our services, the customized plan is the best way to get started.  This plan includes a phone consultation that will take into account your history, current athletic ability, and goals to create a tailored program up to 10 weeks.  Other benefits include exclusive discounts on Speed Hound products and training camps.
  2. ELEVATE (Focused 3 month program): This plan is right for the athlete who has some running experience and adequate base fitness but looking to take their performance to the next level by focusing on a specific building block critical to elevating your performance.  This program also includes running form analysis, bi-weekly check-ins, and a customized strength and flexibility program that will complement your runs.
  3. SUMMIT (Comprehensive 6 month program): This plan is perfect for the dedicated athlete who is looking to maximize their training in preparation to achieve a personal best at a mid/longer distance event.  Your coach will develop a training program that allows you to build a strong foundation, work on developing specific skills (ie, strength, threshold, speed), and fine tuning your preparation to reach your potential on race day.
